2nd October – How can Leeds win the tech race? – 3 Sovereign Square

One of the common challenges for the entire sector is recruitment and Leeds is no exception, with more than half of digital companies in the region reporting a problem. Is clustering the solution and, if it is, how can the city support the sector?

3rd October – CIO WaterCooler Live Leeds – @Aspire Leeds

These events focus on the key topics and challenges faced by technology leaders.

As part of their commitment to catalyse collaboration and connectivity in the technology community, they have now partnered with Northern IT Leaders Group to host their first event in the North!

The event aims to deliver:

4th October – The JVM Thing – @ Aireside House

This month The JVM Thing will be focusing on Apache Kafka’s role in modern data architectures, and will be presented by Robin Moffatt.

Robin will be talking about “Embrace the anarchy: Apache Kafka’s role in modern data architectures” and then hosting a Q & A.

Robin is an Apache Kafka evangelist and dev advocate @ Confluent. Robin has been a blogger since 2009 and has published over 100 articles.

18th October – Lancashire Tech Talks – Graham & Browne Design & Marketing Centre (Blackburn)

These guys are hosting their first ever meetup! Everyone is invited, their first meetup will focus on Innovation through AR for iOS, Cross Reality UX and Future Talent.

They will have a number of great guests including Rob Scott from the BBC, Any Lord (CEO) and Stuart Kirby (Next Gen Talent Director) of code nation.

The Graham & Browne app team will also be talking about the challenges of developing their first mobile app for iOS with augmented reality using ARKit, Xamarin and Microsoft Azure.

18th October – The Power of UX Research: The Booking.com Story @ PRWD Ltd. (Manchester)

25th October – Leeds Sharp @ Platform

This month, Leeds Sharp will be discussing Machine Learning with ML.NET and Azure.

Their guest speaker is Andy Cross, Andy is a co-founder of Elastacloud, an Azure Insider, co-founder of the UK London Azure User Group, an Azure MVP and a Microsoft Regional Director. An international speaker, Andy has lead teams using building the largest Hadoop and HDInsight specialist deployments on Azure.

25th October – Ministry of Testing Leeds – @ Infinity Works Consulting

This month, Gav Winter, founder of Ten10 will be the guest speaker at the Ministry of Testing.
