Tech Events in Yorkshire
Just when you thought Leeds couldn’t get any better, the Leeds International Festival is back with a bang in May! We’ve put together some of our highlights from the festival for you to have a look over as well as a few of our favourites from across the city.
We’re pleased to support monthly .net user group meetup Leeds Sharp, back on May 31st, this month they’re discussing Outside-In Test-Driven Development. Ian Russell is their guest as the organiser of http://Warwickshire.Net, Ian is an experienced agile software designer with a keen interest in software craftsmanship and functional programming in F#.

May Spotlight – Leeds International Festival
It truly is festival season in Leeds, this month we see the ever wonderful Leeds International Festival hit the city, here are just a few of our highlights from the programme.
Disconnect – 28th April
Best selling author Dr Jack Lewis plans to take you all on a dizzying adventure through the mind boggling complexity of the human brain, this time evaluating the impact of modern technology on our grey matter.
As well, they have the wonderful Dr Nicola Millard from BT discussing the office of the future and how dependent we will yet become with our Tech for work and play. Technology may be untethering us from our desks, but is culture anchoring us back?
All Day Hey – 30th April
Back for its second year, All Day Hey is an affordable full-day conference in the heart of Leeds. Front end devs and designers, the conference features an all-star lineup, showcasing some of the country’s finest tech minds.
This years event will be MC’d by Developer Relations head Phil Hawksworth, of Netifly – a San Francisco based tech company, providing next-gen web hosting infrastructure and automation.
Empowering Women with Science & Tech – 3rd May
The conference aims to inspire the current and next generation of females in STEM by showcasing internationally acclaimed female role models from a diverse range of sectors.
The event will feature speakers and panelists including TV presenter Sarah Beeny, Belinda Parmar OBE, Dr Suze Kundu, Dr Sophie Scott , Linda Liukas, Samantha Payne and Dr Pippa Malmgren.
