Tech Events in Yorkshire
With the summer behind us September is lining up as a bumper month of tech events across the Leeds region featuring over 25 great digital events happening in and around the city. To make things easy for you we’ve put together a selection of our favourites with all the information you need before you!

7th September – Leeds Tester Gathering- A community event run for testers by testers
Compered by the fabulous Ady Stokes, this month featuring talks from James Shelby Thomas, a test analyst at Inviqa as well as Beth North who is a senior Analyst at Ten10. The Fruition IT team will also be sharing some insight on the Leeds Tester Market.

13th Sept – Sourcing & Social North 4.0 — Apprentices & GDPR
We’re hosting our 4th Fruition IT event for in-house recruiters and HR professionals focusing on the key topics affecting the recruitment market. Join us at the DoubleTree Hilton from 8.30am for networking with talks from 9am.
Our Speakers include: Sarah Pawson, MD at Fruition IT providing an update on the Leeds Tech staffing market, what roles are in demand and how to stay ahead of the game. Abigail Lever, Academy & Resourcing Manager at Asda on Apprenticeships schemes in tech – what works well and what doesn’t! And Mark Lumley, Partner at Shulmans LLP, specialising in IT, data law, risk management in contracts and projects and negotiating complex commercial agreements on GDPR – what does it really mean for recruitment?
13th Sept – Agile Yorkshire – Monthly lightening talks
Agile Yorkshire is a monthly gathering of IT professionals who meet to discuss agile software
development and extreme programming (XP) amongst a host of other IT issues in an informal meet up group.

21st September 2017- Digital Show ’n’ tell (hosted by KPMG)
Our wonderful hosts KPMG are once again providing our guests with free beer, wine and pizza. After non-salesy networking, 8 different presenters will briefly (but passionately!) talk about and demonstrate something they love… and they want you to love too! This is not sales, the presenters won’t be selling to you… they’ll simply be presenting something they think you’ll find interesting.

28th September – West Yorkshire Linux user group – Chat and education about Linux, free and open source software, hardware and other related topics. Both technical and non technical people are welcome. Their a diverse bunch from new users to long time Linux developers, who welcome new discussions about all aspects of computing which have a Linux edge!

Leeds Sharp is excited to welcome Ismail Mayat, Ismail is an official Umbraco trainer, MVP, and senior developer at The Cogworks. He is the founding father of the Umbraco Course: Searching and Indexing with Examine. This talk will give you a quick overview of what Umbraco is.
